Troy Meier

CEO/Chair

Mr. Meier has over 33 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including 13 years at Baker Hughes. Since the inception of the company in 1999, Mr. Meier has spearheaded the development of our new manufacturing business as well as our research and development activities. As our chief innovator, Mr. Meier has been responsible for not only inventing, but also designing, engineering and manufacturing industry specific machinery and processes and has several patent applications pending.

Previously, in 1993, Mr. Meier started SDPI’s predecessor, Rocky Mountain Diamond, after thirteen years with Christensen Diamond and its successors.

Annette Meier

COO/President

Ms. Meier has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Since SDPI’s inception in 1999, Ms. Meier has managed all the company’s day-to-day operations and business. In 2008, Ms. Meier envisioned and co-created “CHUCK,” our custom shop management and inventory program software. Ms. Meier was also instrumental to the development of the “nucleus grinding system,” that is currently utilized in our new manufacturing processes.

In 2005, Ms. Meier served as the creator and chief architect of the Ropers Business Park, the state-of-the-art campus that houses our remanufacturing and new manufacturing facilities in Vernal, Utah.

Previously, in 1993, Ms. Meier co-founded and managed SDPI’s predecessor, Rocky Mountain Diamond. Ms. Meier has been the recipient of numerous state, local and industry awards over the years that recognized her for innovation and leadership.

Christopher Cashion

CFO

Mr. Cashion has over 30 years of experience in the fields of accounting, finance and private equity. Mr. Cashion joined the Company in March 2014. Previously, Mr. Cashion worked as an independent financial and business consultant since 1998. From January 2013 through February 2014, Mr. Cashion was the Chief Financial Officer for a Houston based hydraulic fracturing equipment manufacturing company. Previously, from January 2005 till August 2012, Mr. Cashion provided chief financial officer services to five start-up portfolio companies owned by the Shell Technology Venture Fund, a private equity fund.

Prior to his tenure with the start-up portfolio companies Mr. Cashion worked for the First Reserve Corporation, Baker Hughes and Ernst & Young.

Mr. Cashion holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee and an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from the University of Houston. Mr. Cashion has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1979.

Chuck Matula

VP of Business Development

Mr. Matula has over 36 years of experience in the oilfield services market segment in the fields of completion and formation evaluation, strategy development, sales, marketing, and mergers and acquisitions. He joined Superior in April of 2018. He has held executive positions at Halliburton, Weatherford, and VC backed companies including ThruBit, LLC (Shell VC), Quantico Energy Solutions, LLC (Founding member), and Shale 2.0, LLC (Founding member). Mr. Matula holds one patent.

Mr. Matula holds a B.S. In Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and an MBA from The University of St Thomas in Houston, Texas.

Lane Snell

VP of Engineering

Mr. Snell graduated from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1985 with a Chemical Engineering Degree. In 1989, he graduated from Denver Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree. He began working for Hughes Tool Company in September of 1989 which was later incorporated into Baker Hughes.

Mr. Snell worked every level of marketing engineering for Baker Hughes for over 24 years, Field Engineer in Denver, Colorado, District Engineer for the Rocky Mountain area and as a Region Engineer for North America. He also worked as a Project Engineer for several years developing special products for applications around the world.

Lane has two patents issued and three pending. Four of the patents are related to bit features and one is related to an apparatus and method of drilling boreholes based on mechanical specific energy determined by the weight on bit and torque measurements at the bit.

David Gale

VP of Operations

Mr. Gale joined the company in August 2007 as the information technology manager. During his initial tenure at Superior Drilling he has successfully managed and updated the company’s technology. Additionally, Mr. Gale co-created, designed, and programmed “CHUCK”, a complete shop management and inventory program. Mr. Gale is also the principal designer of Superior Drilling’s paperless system, utilizing SQL database server networking, touch monitors, and web services. The system includes a real-time, customer-driven inventory tracking system and web-based satellite access for SDPI's customer base.

Mr. Gale graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Journalism and is the recipient of the Edward R. Murrow journalism award.

Tony Benjamin

Human Resource Director

Tony Benjamin is a unique HR leader with more than 17 years’ experience working for some of Utah’s oldest, fastest growing, and most well-known companies. His experience includes Air Medical Resource Group, Dish Network, Control4, and Ovivo USA. Tony is a regionally recognized authority on building successful cultures and is an alumni speaker at DisruptHR SLC. He has an MBA from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor’s degree from Utah State University, and is a certified Professional of Human Resources (PHR). Tony is married to a woman out of his league, has two brilliant kids he doesn’t deserve, and now lives in Vernal, Utah.
